Photographic Portrait Prize 2008
Submissions are now being invited for the Taylor Wessing Photographic Portrait Prize 2008. Entry is open to photographers from around the world, aged 18 and over.
With its substantial prize fund and a high profile exhibition and tour,
the Taylor Wessing Photographic
Portrait Prize 2008 continues the National Portrait Gallery's long tradition
of championing the work of the best portrait photographers.
This year the winner of the competition will receive £12,000. In addition the judges at their discretion will award one or more cash prizes to the shortlisted photographers.
The prizewinners and exhibition will be selected by a distinguished judging panel. The selected exhibition will be shown at the National Portrait Gallery, London, from 6 November 2008 to 15 February 2009 and will tour two further venues in the UK in 2009.
A 72 page catalogue, featuring all the selected photographers accompanies the exhibition.
