Giclée Fine Art Printing on Somerset Photo

Somerset Photo is made from 100% cotton linters. Linters contain a very high percentage of alpha cellulose, the purest form of cellulose. It is made on a traditional mould machine, using woollen felts to impart a delicate texture to the surface of the sheet. The resultant sheet has a high whiteness value, without resorting to excessive use of optical brightening agents. The paper is buffered with calcium carbonate, giving the sheet archival properties that will aid in combating acid attack from airborne pollutants. |
Professional Fine Art Photographic Paper
Somerset Photo is a 300 gsm bright white, genuine mould made paper designed for use in the photographic and fine art markets. It is only available in a satin finish, this is a subtly textured smooth finish that will reveal the finest detail while retaining the look and feel of a photographic or fine art paper.
The paper, in combination with our 12 colour LUCIA pigmented inksets, can reproduce a wide colour gamut and is able to achieve high density values (d-max). This makes it excellent for fine art photography and other fine art reproduction - crisp and vibrant images are achievable, whilst retaining the subtleties and beauty of an authentic artist paper.

Photo is made by St Cuthberts Mill, who are specialists in creating some
of the world's most beautiful artists papers. Respected throughout the world
as the benchmark for quality and reliable papers. The papers are made using
traditional methods and craftsmanship to create stunning mould made papers.
St Cuthberts Mill has been making paper since the 1700's at its site in the southwest of England.
Proof Prints
For digital files you have prepared and sent to Redcliffe we recommend that we print you a proof and send it to you for checking. You will receive two 178mm x 127mm proof prints, one proof print is a scaled down version of the whole composition so that you can check the overall colour. The other proof print is a section of your image printed at 100% of the desired print size so that you can inspect the detail.
There is a £10 charge for proof prints. The secure payment facility will issue you with your Order ID Number and automatically transfer you to our File Server where you can upload your image file.

Your fine art print will have a white border added for mounting or finishing. All finished fine art print work will be dispatched flat in secure packaging.
