David Prior
He grew up with an interest in birds that stemmed from the fact that his first ever drawing was of a Goshawk in his primary school classroom back in 1988.
Since then, he has when possible managed to mitigate the two together to produce fine art paintings of birds in particular.

In addition to birds, David’s interests expanded into the world of wild and scenic places. He feels that he could never paint anything other than wildlife in natural environments, man made scenes simply don’t appeal.
David is a self taught amateur artist who started out as a child using pencil, where he then went on to develop using professional style crayons, from where the painting begun with water colour before finally developing into his now preferred medium of oil colours.
Three years ago, David invested in an SLR camera and lense where he has expanded his artwork also to include bird photography, of which he also very passionate. This created the possibility of painting birds ‘as seen’ in their particular place, of which increases the originality of his work to 100%.
David’s other interests include football, weight training and enjoying family life.
