Russell Elliott

Linda Moorie born in 1961 into a poor working class family in the Midlands. Growing up she felt disillusioned and oppressed by the stereotypical attitudes towards women and work. She left home at sixteen years of age, married young, which only led to further oppression. Inspired by the film 'Educating Rita' she picked up the courage to set herself free and studied at the University of warwick. It was there where she obtained masters degree.

In her images she portrays the dark and light side of human life. Her images also show how humans construct and depict images and fill in the spaces with their own mind where no image exists. Thus showing how people are affected by both internal and external forces.
